Holker Farm is situated on the edge of the Holker Hall Estate, which lies between the shores of Morecambe Bay and Cartmel fell. The farm is part of a large estate although we farm just 20 acres of this.
The area we farm is mostly traditional parkland, old pastures over Limestone and makes up the majority of the grazing for the milking sheep and is also home to the estates herd of Fallow Deer and their Shorthorn Cattle.
Holker Farm has a range of traditional stone barns, these are rented from the estate by our friend and neighbouring farmer James Bird. The newest part of the farm (built in the 60's!) is a portal framed farm building designed as a dairy unit for milking cows this is now the home of our milking sheep.
